Handa Industrial Mixer

Sunny Solly Machines offers a premium portfolio of Industrial Mixers and Blending Systems engineered for uniform mixing, controlled material movement, and long-term operational reliability. Our mixing solutions are designed to combine and disperse multiple components into a consistent, homogeneous blend while preserving product structure, particle integrity, and functional properties such as texture, density, and flow characteristics. Whether processing dry powders, granules, spices, tea, grains, supari, nutraceutical blends, or chemical formulations, our industrial mixers are built to deliver repeatable performance with minimal material degradation and maximum batch consistency.

Compact, practical, and application-focused, the Handa (Curved Vessel) Mixer is a specialised batch mixing unit designed for homogeneous blending and processing of powders, granules, and particulate materials such as agro products, herbal mixtures and other semi-dry materials, where an angular tipped vessel configuration is required. Featuring a curved vessel configuration that promotes gentle tumbling and uniform surface contact, this mixer is particularly well-suited for coating applications such as seasoning, flavouring, oil application, or colouring of products like supari (betel nut), cardamom, nuts, seeds, granules, and similar snack food products.

Description

The Handa (Curved Vessel) Mixer is designed for controlled low-to-medium volume mixing and coating processes where precision handling is more critical than bulk throughput. Its design enables consistent material movement with minimal breakage, ensuring even coating distribution and improved product finish. The mixing vessel, known as a “handa,” features a cylindrical profile with curved top and bottom, mounted at an approximately 45° angle to the horizontal. This inclination helps reduce product spillage during rotation and enhances mixing action due to the natural flow of material within the vessel. For applications requiring thermal assistance, the Handa Mixer can be equipped with an integrated heating arrangement, making it suitable for processes involving warming, moisture activation, or heat-assisted coating. Driven by a stable motor–gearbox assembly and built with durable construction, this model offers manufacturers a cost-effective and efficient solution for specialized blending and coating operations where batch control, surface uniformity, and operational simplicity are key priorities.

The drum is connected to a central rotating shaft, which is driven by a motor and gearbox assembly to ensure smooth and consistent rotation. The shaft is supported by industrial-grade bearings to maintain alignment and ensure smooth rotation, reduced load on the drive mechanisms, and long-term reliability. To accommodate various material properties and application requirements, the drum vessel can be fabricated in Stainless Steel (SS-304) or brass. The supporting frame and rotating shaft are constructed from Mild Steel (MS) for strength and durability. The primary material interface is through the open mouth of the drum, which serves as both the loading inlet and the unloading outlet. For enhanced functionality, an additional discharge outlet can be supplied at the drum’s circumference. This outlet is equipped with a mechanical sliding lock to allow controlled discharge of mixed material without interrupting the process flow.

For applications requiring thermal processing, the Handa Mixer can be provided with an optional heating system. A heated air blower or gas burner provision can be integrated for heating, which enhances process efficiency for drying, tempering, or activation of heat-dependent ingredients. Inside the vessel, internal mixing blades made of stainless steel or copper are mounted to promote effective material circulation, agitation and uniform blending. This Handa Mixer is ideal for batch mixing operations in the food processing, chemical, pharmaceutical, and related industries, offering durability, ease of operation, and flexible configuration options.

Note: Drum dimensions, blade configuration, heating method and discharge arrangement can be customized based on product characteristics and batch size. Mixing performance may vary depending on material density, moisture content, and operating conditions.
