The U-Type Mixer is designed for efficient and uniform mixing of powders, granules, spice blends, herbal materials, tea, betel nuts (supari), tobacco, snack food, pet food, agro products, chemical, pharmaceutical, and similar free-flowing products. The machine comprises a U-shaped mixing vessel with a central rotating shaft running along the full length of the drum, supported on heavy-duty bearings and driven through a robust motor and gearbox assembly.
The shaft can be configured with either of the following interchangeable mixing elements, depending on the application:
- Four continuous helical blades, ideal for rough or aggressive mixing, where enhanced agitation is desired and the product may be subjected to mild abrasion, or size reduction during the mixing process, or
- Multiple T-shaped straight blades, intended for controlled and comparatively gentle mixing, where product integrity needs to be largely maintained.
The U-Type Mixer is top-loaded. The drum is provided with a hinged top access door, designed for manual charging of material. The door is equipped with a mechanical locking arrangement to ensure secure closure during the mixing process, preventing spillage and enhancing operator safety.
The mixer features a single centrally located bottom discharge outlet. The outlet can be equipped with a manual mechanical lock, butterfly valve, or pneumatic locking system, as per customer preference and material flow requirements.
Optionally, a screening arrangement can be installed along the top opening of the U-drum, allowing incoming material to be pre-screened before entering the mixing chamber. The screen aperture size and configuration can be customized based on product characteristics and the desired output, enabling removal of oversize particles or foreign matter prior to mixing.
The U-Type Mixer is recommended for batch-type operations and is engineered for durability, ease of operation, consistent performance, and minimal maintenance, making it ideal for food processing, chemical, pharmaceutical, and allied industries.
